Felicity 2.0

underwood Street, city of sydney

Sponsored by ARUP and made in collaboration with Two Good, Lend Lease, Authority Creative and City of Sydney to raise awareness of the importance of gender equality.

The wall focuses on a positive depiction of gender equality as well as drawing on research that directly links rigid gender stereotypes to high rates of violence against women. The language we use to talk to children is significant. These and other subtle expressions of gender stereotypes that children absorb can shape attitudes and expectations into adulthood. Hopefully the big strong girl and the pretty little boy in the mural get to express their sense of self in whatever way they choose.
