The Erko Bird Project - murals, stencil art and community workshops

Did you know small birds such as fairy wrens, spotted pardalotes and silvereyes used to be a common sight in Sydney? Since 2014 small bird populations have declined by over 50% mostly due to lack of habitat and being pushed out by predators and other bigger birds.

To highlight this fact and give people info on how they could help we did habitat plantings, art workshops, a mural and stencilled over 50 wrens in and around Erko.

Click here to access a walking trail that shows the locations of over 20 of the stencilled wrens.

Be quick some may already have disappeared.

Click here to see images of the art we made, the talks we held, the plants we planted and the wrens we stencilled.
